J&K Assly polls: Gool-Arnas records highest polling till noon

JAMMU: The remote Gool-Arnas Assembly Constituency recorded the highest polling till afternoon in the second phase of the five-phased Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.
Altogether, 18 assembly segments in five districts of Kupwara, Kulgam, Udhampur, Reasi and Poonch are underway polling in the second phase.
However, till afternoon, Gool Arnas recorded the highest 44 per cent polling while Gulabgarh 42.34 per cent, Reasi 42.08 per cent, Udhampur 41.80 per cent, Chenani (SC) 37.08 per cent, Ramnagar 40.88 per cent, Surankote 27 per cent, Mendher 24 per cent and Poonch Haveli 30.43 per cent. Meanwhile in Kashmir Karnah recorded 22.87 per cent, Kupwara 29.82 per cent, Lolab 30.88 per cent, Handwara 30.40 per cent, Langate 22.77 per cent, Noorabad 30.05 per cent, Kulgam 28.14 per cent, Home Shalibugh 11.39 per cent and Devsar 30 per cent.
Earlier, in the morning till 1000 hrs, Gulabgarh recorded 17.99 per cent, Reasi 19.95 per cent, Gool-Arnas 18.04 per cent, Udhampur 18.76 per cent, Chenani (SC) 11.38 per cent, Ramnagar 16.96 per cent, Surankote 9.85 per cent, Mendher 11 per cent, Poonch Haveli 8.80 per cent. Karnah recorded 9 per cent, Kupwara 4 per cent, Lolab, 10.5 per cent, Handwara, 4 per cent, Langate 3.50 per cent, Noorabad 10.50 per cent, Kulgam 8.18 per cent, Home Shalibugh 1.20 per cent and Devsar 4.50 per cent. However, no untoward incident or violence has been reported so far in any of the assembly segments. (AGENCIES)
