JAMMU, Sept 8: A deputation led by local Sarpanch of the Jindrah Anil Sharma today met the MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and demanded exemption of Toll Tax at Ban Toll Plaza.
The Sarpanchs of other Panchayats including Jhajjar Kotli, Madan Mohan Dubey, Sarpanch Kanhiyala Mohan Lal Mengi and prominent persons of Block Dansal and Nagrota also accompanied them.
During the meet, Anil Sharma raised the problem being faced by the people of local areas, who are forced to pay the tax while crossing over the toll plaza.
Sharma said that the people of Nagrota block and Dansal block as being the local residents must be exempted to pay tax.
In this regard he referred to the reply submitted by the concerned authorities in a RTI filed by him, wherein it has been categorically mentioned that the residents of the area falling within the 20 Km of radius would be exempted to pay the tax.
Jugal Kishore Sharma assured that he would take up the issue with the concerned authorities as the demand is genuine and in light of the information provided under RTI, the case is now even legally fit for the exemption.
