JDGD Saraf Trust announces Essay Contest

JAMMU, Dec 25: To commemorate over a hundred years of journalism in J&K, JDGD Saraf Trust has announced an ‘Essay Contest’ for students on the topic ‘A Century of Courage: Reflections on Journalism and Public Service in Jammu & Kashmir’.
A handout from the organisers sated that the contest invites students to critically and creatively reflect on the historical journey of journalism in the region, its courage, ethical challenges, social responsibilities and relevance in shaping public consciousness.
The contest is open to students of colleges, universities, and other higher educational institutions and aims to foster informed dialogue, research-oriented thinking and responsible expression among emerging scholars and writers.
The organisers have asked the educational institutions to circulate the contest details widely and motivate maximum students to participate thereby strengthening awareness about the historical and contemporary significance of journalism and public service.
The JDGD Saraf Trust was founded in 1985 by Lala Mulk Raj Saraf, the ‘Father of Journalism in Jammu & Kashmir’ along with Om Prakash Saraf.
