JAMMU, Nov 22: Jammu Doctors Forum (JDF) has expressed deep shock over the exposure of a terror module linked to the Delhi blasts that involves doctors from Faridabad, Kashmir and other cities.
The Forum said the alleged involvement of medical professionals including missing individuals and women doctors has shaken public faith and raised serious concerns about radicalization within educated sections of society.
In a joint statement, Dr Dushyant Chowdhary (president), Dr Varinder Sharma (general secretary) and Dr Vikas Padha (vice president) said that those found involved have disgraced the noblest of professions and stained not only their own reputations but also those of their families, communities, regions, and the institutions that shaped them.
The Forum noted with concern that several individuals associated with the module are still missing, pointing to the existence of a deeply embedded network with dangerous intent. They said this educated group was “playing with fire,” putting countless lives at risk and attempting to bleed India from within at the cost of innocent citizens.
They urged the Government to intensify investigations beyond merely checking lockers or surface-level records. The doctors demanded a countrywide mechanism to assess digital footprints, travel histories, suspicious associations, academic backgrounds, communication patterns, and possible foreign links of medical professionals.
They specifically recommended periodic scrutiny of all doctors in India, including those from J&K, and a thorough security check for individuals returning after studying medicine abroad before they are engaged in any professional capacity.
The doctors also criticized former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for stating that he felt unsafe while driving in Delhi after the arrests, alleging that his remarks divert attention from the terrorists, Pakistan’s role, and those responsible for the Red Fort blast conspiracy. They said such statements wrongly portray the nation as hostile towards Kashmiris and create needless fear.
