JAMMU, July 3: A team of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) today removed around 6-7 illegal hutments constructed along a public pathway in Kalka Colony area of the district.
Besides, some scrap littered on the pathway was also cleared and the residents of the area were warned against occupying the public property.

A JDA officer said that the drive was initiated after receiving multiple complaints from the Bahu Fort residents, who alleged encroachments on the pathway leading to the Shamshan Ghat.
“Several people approached us through emails and written complaints, stating they face obstruction while heading towards the Shamshan Ghat, as the entire pathway en-route has been encroached upon,” said Garbi Rashid, Director Land Management, JDA.
According to him, some pacca structures built in the area would also be demolished after serving notices to the Kalka Colony residents shortly.
