Resentment against PSC for ignoring Jammu

JAMMU, Sept 18: The Jammu Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JCCI) and Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) discussed the burning issues/problems of the industrialists in the region and expressed strong resentment against Parliamentary Standing Committee (PSC) on Commerce, for ignoring Jammu region during its recent visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
A joint meeting of the office bearers of CCI Jammu and FOIJ was held today at Association of Industries  office at Gangyal in which Arun Gupta president Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Varinder Jain, Chairman FOIJ, Lalit Mahajan, Co-Chairman FOIJ, SC Dutta Co-Chairman FOIJ, Jatinder Aul Co-Chairman FOIJ and Ajit Bawa Co-Chairman, were present and discussed the hardships /problems being faced by the Industries in Jammu division.
The members present in the meeting, expressed strong resentment over the visit of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce, headed by its Chairman, Dola Sen and comprising of other members of Parliament including Renuka Chowdhury, Yusuf Pathan, Shiv Pal Singh Patel, Sadanand Shet Tanavade and Prasun Banerjee to Kashmir Valley only to listen the problems /hardships being faced by our counterparts there, while deliberately ignoring Jammu region.
During deliberations members expressed that for the last so many years, we fail to understand that why Jammu is being deliberately ignored by the visiting Parliamentary Standing Committees who prefer to visit Kashmir only when the majority of manufacturing units are in Jammu and they are in trouble and are at the verge of closure.
Citing the absence of proper incentives and lack of Government support the industry representatives stated that industries in Jammu are on the verge of closure. They demanded that the Parliamentary Standing Committees must also visit Jammu to listen to the grievances and problems faced by local industries.
“We request Dr Jitendra Singh, MOS in PMO, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament and Ghulam Ali Khatana, Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) to impress upon the Parliamentary Standing Committees  to visit Jammu also to assess the problems /hardships being faced by our industries,” they pleaded.
