JCC, Samar Club script wins in Winter Shield T20 Cup

JAMMU, Mar 23: Jammu Cricket Club and Samar Cricket Club registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing Winter Shield T20 Cup which is being organized by SCA, J&K Sports Council under the supervision of Dr Naseem Choudhary, Secretary J&K State Sports Council.
In the first match, Jammu Cricket Club defeated Raja Warriors Club by a huge margin of 91runs.
Batting first, Jammu Cricket Club scored 156 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Vivrant Sharma (35), Shubham Singh Pundir (33) and Surya (32) were the main scorers. From Raja Warriors, Puneet, Deepak, Jagdev and Nishu took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Raja Warriors Club bundled out for 65 runs in 14,3 overs. Puneet Wattal top scored with 21 runs, while no other batsman could cross the double figure mark. From JCC, Vivrant took 5 wickets, while Guru Partap Singh, Aman and Rohit claimed 1 wicket each. Vivrant was declared as the man of the match.
In another match, Samar Cricket Club defeated Lakshmi Cricket Club in a close contest by 1 wicket.
Batting first, Lakshmi Cricket Club scored 123 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Rohan Koul top scored with 31 runs, while Nipun and Dhruv contributed 22 and 21 runs respectively. From Samar Club, Kamal took 3 wickets, Gagan bagged 2, while Aman and Robin claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Samar club chased the target in 19.4 overs for the loss of 9 wickets, thus won the match by one wicket. Bandeep top scored with 40 runs, while Aman and Manpreet contributed 17 and 11 runs respectively. From Lakshmi Club, Yogesh Sikka, Sant Baksh and Monu took 3 wickets each. Bandeep was declared as the man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Vijay, Dayal and Ashok Kumar.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Media XI will take on Secretariat XI at 10 am, while Road & Safety XI will lock horns with Singh Akhnoor CC at 1 pm.
