AKHNOOR, Dec 10: Tightening its noose around mining mafia, Police seized a JCB and Tipper, which were allegedly being used in illegal mining in the area.
Acting on specific inputs regarding illegal mining, Akhnoor Police Party, led by SHO Hilal Azhar raided village Gandarwan last night and seized one JCB bearing registration number JK02CP- 7004 and one tipper bearing registration number JK02AQ -2699.
In this connection, a fine of Rs 35,446 was imposed for the involvement in illegal mining.
