JAMMU, Oct 20: A two-day fest, ‘Karva Chauth and Diwali,’ was hosted by the Jammu Club in its premises, here today.
The two-day festival was celebrated with grandeur, reflecting the spirit of traditional festivities.
The event was managed by Gaurav Gupta, Secretary of the Club along with his team members and supervised by Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, who is also the Vice President of the Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Gupta emphasized that organizing such events is not merely about entertainment but also about preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
He said, “These valuable traditions, passed down through generations, showcase the richness of our culture, and events like this help keep them alive.”
Gupta also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Ritesh Gupta, Dr. Meenakshi Kotwal, Indu Puri, Vasundhra Gupta, Kavita Gupta, Dr. Shailaja Mahajan other esteemed members of the Managing Committee and staff members, whose hard work and dedication contributed to the event’s success.
The exhibition was specially curated to cater to the needs of women preparing for both Karva Chauth and Diwali, making the celebrations even more memorable.
Special attractions included a play zone for kids, Dogri music and dance performances in collaboration with the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and a thrilling Bumper Tambola.
It was a blend of tradition and modernity, featuring a variety of lifestyle exhibitors, Mehendi and nail art stalls, tarot readers, live snacks and music.
District Jail Jammu also established a stall to display items prepared by jail inmates.
Among others who graced the event included Anil Sharma, Kavita Gupta, Indu Puri, Vasundhra Sharma, Ashwani Gupta, Dr. Ritesh Gupta, Sidharth Samnotra, Vikram Dhawan and Dr. Hema Gandotra Jandial.
