JBIT, R&Z Technologies sign MoU to set up semiconductor, AI center

JAMMU, Apr 20: JB Institute of Technology (JBIT), Dehradun, and R&Z Technologies, Jammu, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a global center of excellence in semiconductor and artificial intelligence technologies.
A statement said the initiative aimed at supporting the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) and boosting efforts under Make in India and Vocal for Local campaigns.
It said the MoU was signed in the presence of top dignitaries and faculty members at Swami Vivekananda Hall, JBIT.
“The collaboration will focus on creating skilled manpower in semiconductor design and AI, promoting India as a global hub in these sectors,” the statement said.
Dr M J Zarabi, founder of R & Z Technologies, former CMD of Semi-Conductor Laboratory, Mohali (MeitY), and Honorary Advisor, India Semiconductor Association, delivered a talk on “The World of Semiconductors and India’s Quest.”
He stressed the Government’s commitment to self-reliance in semiconductor production through the India Semiconductor Mission.
Dr B L Raina, co-founder of R & Z Technologies and former CEO of Divergent Technologies Inc, emphasized the growing role of AI in chip design.
He also highlighted the importance of Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) in secure semiconductor development, particularly in IoT and AI-powered devices.
Susheel Jalali, COO of R & Z Technologies, and Deepak Thakur, Honorary Chief Advisor, also addressed the gathering.
They spoke about the need for design-led Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and encouraged students to pursue careers in AI and semiconductor technologies.
From JBIT, Vice Chairman Sandeep Singhal, Director Dr P K Chaudhary, Registrar Dr Vishant Kumar, Dean Dr Pavan Kumar Chaubey, and faculty heads Prem Kumar, Manoj Kumar Chaudhary, Dr Vinay Avasthi, Dr Updesh Verma, and Santosh Kumar Mishra were present.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, with JBIT officials expressing gratitude to R&Z Technologies and all dignitaries for their presence and support.
