JAMMU, Nov 25: In a meeting here today, the Censor Certified Film Producers and Directors from J&K have formed a body under the name J&K Feature Film Producers-Directors Association (JKFFPDA).
A handout stated that the aim of constituting JKFFPDA is to give J&K cinema an identity like Punjabi and Bhojpuri film industry as the film industry of the Union Territory has been able to release only 17-18 feature films in the last six decades.
The meeting was attended by Amit Choudhary (Producer, Maa Ni Mildi), Heera Mani Singh (Director, Mauj Masti), Ashok Kumar Sharma (Producer/Director, Yaar Ki Ibaadat), Rajan Bhan (Producer, Shohrat), Jayesh Gupta (Producer/Director, Kyun), Danush Kesar (Producer, Aaun Aan Shinda), Baljeet Singh (Producer/Director, Funtasia), Neelam Phull (Producer/Director, Kuggi Maar Duaari), Parshotam Gupta (Producer, Jammu 86 Gangwar), Rajesh Raja (Director, Jammu 86 Gangwar), Rakesh Chalotra (Producer, Mauj Masti), Vinod Jaral (Producer, Mauj Masti), Pawan Bral (Producer, Mehroom) and Vikram Singh (Producer, Meri Jind Meri Jaan).
In meeting, all the producers and directors unanimously elected Jayesh Gupta as president of JKFFPDA for a term of one year.
It was decided in the meeting that three other office bearers of the Association will be elected soon.
The meeting resolved to promote regional cinema and solve the problems of people associated with it.
