JAMMU, Aug 31: In the wake of heavy rainfall that triggered devastating floods across Jammu and Kashmir on August 25 and 26, social activist Jayesh Gupta today distributed food packets among individuals and families severely affected by the calamity.
Early this morning, Jayesh visited several flood-hit areas in and around Jammu, where he personally interacted with the victims and assessed the scale of destruction. He described the situation as “dire,” noting that thousands of people have been left distressed, with many having lost their belongings and means of livelihood.
Acknowledging the tireless efforts of the police, Army personnel, Disaster Relief Force, and other agencies whose quick response has saved countless lives, he stressed that the survivors continue to face significant hardships in the aftermath of the floods.

Jayesh also called upon civil society members, public representatives, and fellow social activists to come forward and provide immediate relief in the form of food, clothing, medicines, and other essential resources.
Reaffirming his commitment to serve the community, Gupta stated that he would continue his relief work in the coming days, standing in solidarity with the affected families until normalcy is restored.
