JAMMU: An Army jawan was today martyred in cross border firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.
“Pakistani Army during midnight initiated unprovoked firing in Nowshera sector,” official sources here said.
They said early morning one Bakhtawar Singh of 8 Sikh LI, suffered critical injuries in exchange of firing and he was rushed to the Army Hospital Rajouri where he succumbed.
“The firing so far has stopped,” police sources here said. For the last five days, Pakistan is firing heavily on forward Indian posts while two Pakistani soldiers were also killed reportedly in retaliation by the Indian Army. (AGENCIES)
