JAMMU, Jan 22: All Jammu and Kashmir Jatt Sabha has decided to conduct fresh membership drive across the Union Territory and formulate a constitution of the Sabha before holding elections for new office bearers.
While explaining the policy decisions taken by the existing office bearers, the president of the All J&K Jatt Sabha and former Minister, Manjit Singh, along with other leaders of the Sabha and Chief Patron and former Member of Parliament, Tarlok Singh Bajwa told the media-persons that a fresh membership drive is being launched shortly.
He said Jatt Sabha has unanimously decided to hold a membership drive across Jammu and Kashmir among the Jatt community before conducting elections to elect new office bearers. Singh said that the committee members have already conducted a tour of the Jammu region. Accordingly, the committee will constitute its team after holding deliberations with community leaders during field visits.
He stated that another committee has been constituted to frame the Sabha’s constitution, with Chief Patron and former MP Tarlok Singh Bajwa as its Chairman. The committee will prepare a framework covering policy decisions, tenure of office bearers, and criteria for elections and contesting candidates.
