KATHUA, Jan 12: BJP MLA Jasrota, Rajiv Jasrotia, paid rich tribute to Shaheed Mangal Singh in a solemn and impressive Shardanjali Samaroh held at Village Ladoli, Panchayat Magloor East.
Shaheed Mangal Singh, who had joined the Indian Army in 2000 with the JAK Rifles, laid down his life at the tender age of 22 in 2002 while serving the nation, leaving behind a legacy of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism.
Addressing the gathering, Jasrotia highlighted the profound impact of martyrdom on the youth of the area and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir at large. He emphasized that the sacrifice of soldiers like Shaheed Mangal Singh instills a deep sense of national pride and responsibility among young people, motivating them to uphold the values of selflessness, discipline, and service to the country. Jasrotia stated that such acts of bravery serve as a guiding light, inspiring generations to contribute positively to society and to protect the unity and integrity of the nation.
Jasrotia also underlined the role of martyrdom in strengthening the spirit of the youth in J&K UT, especially in fostering patriotism, resilience, and civic consciousness. He remarked that remembering and honouring our martyrs not only preserves their legacy but also encourages young citizens to actively participate in nation-building and community development. He called upon families, schools, and local institutions to share the stories of heroes like Shaheed Mangal Singh to inspire courage and determination among students and youth in the region.
The MLA further highlighted the personal sacrifices made by the families of martyrs and emphasized the responsibility of society to support them. He assured that the Government and party leadership remain committed to extending all possible assistance to the families of fallen heroes and promoting initiatives that recognize their invaluable contributions.
He said, “The nation will always be indebted to martyrs like Shaheed Mangal Singh, whose supreme sacrifice ensures our safety, sovereignty, and unity. Their courage inspires every citizen, especially the youth, to embrace values of selflessness, discipline, and love for the country.”
The Shardanjali Samaroh was attended by local residents, community leaders, and family members of the martyr.
