KATHUA, Jan 14: MLA Jasrota, Rajiv Jasrotia, today held a public darbar at Logate Morh near here, to listen to the grievances and issues raised by people from different Panchayats of the constituency.
The initiative aimed at ensuring direct public outreach and providing a platform for residents to place their concerns before their elected representative. During the interaction, Rajiv Jasrotia heard issues related to basic amenities, development works, welfare schemes and administrative delays, and assured the people of timely redressal in coordination with the concerned departments. He reiterated that such public darbars are essential to strengthen grassroots democracy and ensure responsive governance.
The public darbar was attended by BJP district president, Kathua Updesh Andotra, district general secretaries, Rajesh Mehta and Gagan Singh, district president SC Morcha, Nigesh, along with several prominent representatives and residents from various Panchayats of the area. The event concluded with renewed assurance by the MLA to continue such public outreach programmes regularly and to work tirelessly for the overall development and welfare of the Jasrota constituency.
On the occasion, the MLA also cautioned the people about the canards and misinformation being spread by the Congress and other opposition parties regarding the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025. Jasrotia strongly countered the negative propaganda being spread by the Congress and other opposition parties against the landmark VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, terming such criticism as politically motivated. He asserted that the Act represents a historic and transformative step towards ensuring dignified, sustainable, and secure livelihoods for rural households across the country, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rajiv Jasrotia said that unlike previous schemes driven by temporary relief and adhoc measures, the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 provides a legally enforceable framework guaranteeing 125 days of employment per rural household annually. This, he emphasized, ensures income stability, social security, and economic confidence for rural families. He said the Act reflects the BJP-led Government’s commitment to empowering the poor through structured opportunities rather than hollow promises.
The MLA highlighted that the Act goes far beyond wage employment by focusing on long-term rural asset creation and village-level economic strengthening.
