KATHUA, Mar 16: Reaffirming his commitment to strengthening grassroot infrastructure and expanding public welfare facilities in rural areas, BJP MLA from Jasrota, Rajiv Jasrotia today inaugurated the newly constructed Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Thakurpura in Panchayat Chandwan. The modern healthcare facility has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 1.3 crore and is expected to significantly improve access to primary healthcare services for the residents of Chandwan and adjoining villages.
The Ayushman Arogya Mandir aims to serve as a comprehensive health and wellness centre, providing essential medical services, preventive healthcare, maternal and child health care, immunization and basic diagnostic facilities closer to the doorsteps of rural populations. The initiative is in line with the Government’s vision of strengthening the primary healthcare network and ensuring affordable and quality medical care for all.
On the occasion, the MLA also inaugurated a series of important developmental works in Panchayat Chandwan aimed at improving civic infrastructure and basic amenities in the area. These included the installation of two new power transformers to strengthen electricity supply and the construction of three lane drains and public platforms, executed at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh. These works are expected to address long-standing issues related to power fluctuations, drainage and public convenience in the locality.
Speaking at a well-attended public meeting organized after the inauguration ceremony, Rajiv Jasrotia said that he remains committed to ensuring balanced and inclusive development in every village and every Panchayat. He emphasized that improving healthcare facilities in rural areas is a major priority, as timely and accessible medical services play a crucial role in enhancing the overall quality of life of people.
He stated that the Ayushman Arogya Mandir will not only provide routine healthcare services but will also promote preventive healthcare and awareness among the local population. “Healthcare facilities at the grassroots level are essential for building a healthy society. This centre will greatly benefit the people of Chandwan and nearby areas by providing quality medical services without the need to travel long distances,” the MLA said.
