RAJOURI, Sept 7: Youth National Conference (YNC) today blamed the PDP-BJP dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir for abandoning the developmental works taken up in the Rajouri district during the Omar Abdullah led Government.
Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, YNC Provincial President, Ajaz Jan questioned the claims being made by the ruling coalition. He said nothing is moving on ground and the entire development process has come to a grinding halt, resulting in poor utility of services to the people, especially in remote and border areas.
“We are witnessing developmental inertia and administrative collapse in the border district”, Jan added. He was flanked by NC district president, Shafayat Khan, YNC district president, Mati ul Rehman, Minority Cell president, Nirman Singh and others.
Jan said Rajouri district was under the focused attention of the previous NC led Government and a number of schemes were apace for ameliorating the lot of poor people but the present Government, despite huge mandate, has not only neglected the area but is watching mutely people to suffer on account of development and the various other utility services.
Referring to construction of Mini Secretariat, taken up by the previous Government, he said due to infighting among the leaders and legislators of the ruling dispensation, the project has virtually been abandoned.
He also accused the PDP-BJP dispensation of changing the site of the Government Medical College for Poonch and Rajouri, got sanctioned due to strenuous efforts of the former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and said the new site will be problematic for the people of the two districts.
Jan and other NC leaders also cautioned BJP against any move to trample with the special status of State and said that NC will fight tooth and nail all the attempts of fiddling with Article 35A.
