JAMMU, Oct 14: Emerging actor and dancer ‘Krrish Kohli’, originally from Jammu, has made his debut with ‘Kasar Na Chodhna’, a music video released under the T-Series label.
The project, which marks his transition from student filmmaker to professional performer, has been described by Kohli as a “dream come true and a heartfelt celebration of teamwork, dance, and perseverance.”
Recalling his early fascination with cinema, Krrish said, “Great things are done by a series of small things coming together. My love for films began back in 2006 when I was just three years old and saw the movie Krrish. I was absolutely blown away, jumping on theatre seats with wonder. That moment — and my parents’ love for cinema — unknowingly raised an artist who always wanted to entertain.”
After completing his schooling in Jammu, Krrish moved to Mumbai to pursue filmmaking at Whistling Woods International, where he graduated in Production Design. “Even though my heart was always in front of the camera, studying Production Design helped me understand every layer of storytelling. It deepened my love for acting,” he said.
To gain experience and confidence, Krrish began modelling for independent brands, often without remuneration. His efforts soon led to collaborations with reputed names such as Manyavar and Baskin Robbins. During this period, he also acted in his first short film, Alpha Mard, directed by his batchmate Aneesh. “That project taught me what it truly means to be a team player,” he shared.
‘Kasar Na Chodhna’ was conceived after Krrish decided to create something of his own. He approached Aaditya Mehta, who had composed the music for Alpha Mard. “Aaditya told me he had written ‘Kasar’ long ago and had imagined me in it even before we had met. That gave me goosebumps,” Krrish recalled.
The music video was directed by Aneesh and choreographed by Ankan Sen and Sahil Khan, both known for their work with Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan. The project brought together several of Krrish’s fellow graduates from Whistling Woods, all of whom contributed voluntarily out of passion.
The journey to release was not without challenges. Post-production delays and multiple label rejections tested his perseverance. “There were many days of walking home empty-handed,” he admitted. “But when T-Series finally came on board, it felt like destiny.”
With ‘Kasar Na Chodhna’ now streaming on digital platforms, Krrish Kohli marks his entry into the entertainment industry with what he calls “more than just a song — an emotion.”
