JAMMU, Sept 6: Demanding immediate withdrawal of Toll Tax, Trader Associations of old city under the banner of Chamber of Traders Federation held a massive protest demonstration at Purani Mandi Chowk here today.
Speaking to the protesting traders on the occasion,   Neeraj Anand, president Chamber of Traders Federation, threatened to launch an indefinite agitation if the Government fails to remove Toll Tax by  September 20, 2017.
Raising slogans against the State Administration,  Jammu traders alleged that continuation of Toll Tax in J&K State, subsumed elsewhere in the rest of India is neither going to benefit the traders nor the consumers. This shall only serve the hidden agenda of some politicians, industrialists and officials in connivance.

It has also come to the notice of CTF that due to the continuation of Toll Tax unscrupulous traders in the neighboring States are still engaged in pushing their material in our State at lower prices in connivance with officials at the border. The local dealers will  suffer due to large disparity of rates and this also defeats the theory of  “One Nation One Tax”. And people of our State will be  deprived of the benefits of reduces prices as is being witnessed across India.
Respecting the sentiments of the people of Jammu, Chamber of Traders Federation demanded that September 23, 2017 must be declared as State holiday in the honour of Last Dogra King,  Maharaja Hari Singh.
Narayan Singh, president Rajput Sabha J&K and Patel Bazar, Fattu Chogan Traders Association while speaking in the protest demonstration assured full support of his Association and Rajput Sabha to Chamber of Traders Federation in its fight to get Toll Tax abolished and also demanded that  September 23, 2017 must be declared as State holiday.

Attar Singh (President Distributors Association),  Yash Paul Gupta (President, Retailers Federation), MS Katoch (Working president JPPF Jammu), Ramesh Mahajan (president Raj Tilak Road Trader Association), S.
