SRINAGAR: Summer capital Srinagar and winter capital Jammu will participate in the “All India Smart City Challenge Process (AISCCP) for which the centre has been approached for release of Rs 2 crore each for preparation.
This information was given by Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh in reply to a question by Rajesh Gupta, BJP MLA from Jammu East in the Legislative Assembly today.
Dr Singh said the centre has considered both the capital cities of Srinagar and Jammu for the participation in AISCCP. He said the centre has been requested to release Rs 2 crore each for preparation of Smart City proposal for both the cities.
The reply said an amount of Rs 500 crore would be made available as central assistance for implementation of Smart City proposal for every city and the implementation time frame will be five years. (AGENCIES)
