The slow movement of vehicles was allowed after frequent repair at this stretch. An emergency single road was also created by cutting mountain to facilitate the movement of vehicles.

Ganai said that NH authorities will initiate necessary repair work in the morning to restore highway. “No fresh vehicles will be allowed from Srinagar or Jammu side in the morning till the highway is cleared. Those willing to travel from Jammu or Srinagar side must contact Traffic Control Rooms at Jammu or Srinagar before starting their journey, ” the SSP Traffic said.
