Jammu-Rajouri helicopter service resumes operation

RAJOURI, Nov 12: The Government’s subsidized helicopter service has successfully resumed operation between Jammu and Rajouri, marking a significant step towards improving regional connectivity and providing faster travel options for the public.
The first helicopter landed and took off from the Sports Stadium Rajouri today, symbolizing the resumption of this much-awaited service.

The reintroduction of the subsidized air-service is expected to greatly benefit residents, government officials, and emergency service providers by reducing travel time and enhancing accessibility between remote and urban areas. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening transport infrastructure and ensuring equitable access to essential services in hilly and border districts like Rajouri.
Officials from the district administration were present to oversee the successful operation of the inaugural flight, expressing optimism that the service will further boost tourism, trade, and administrative efficiency in the region.
