JAMMU, Oct 26: In a major push to the ongoing ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chorh’ campaign launched across Jammu and Kashmir by JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra, a signature campaign was organized on Sunday near Jewal Chowk, Jammu.
The program was joined by former minister and Ex-MLA Jammu East, Yogesh Sawhney and organised by Block president Ajay Kumar Kaka. The campaign, which aims to raise public awareness against electoral malpractice and corruption, continues to gather tremendous support from the people across the Union Territory.
The program was attended by Congress leaders Ram Magotra senior vice president DCC Jammu Urban, Block president Nageshwar Singh, Raj Kumar Mehra, State general secretary Youth Congress Sahil Singh Langeh and Anirudh Sawhney, State secretary Anmol Kohli, ward presidents Madhu Banraj, Sahil Dogra, Rashiq Qureshi, Tara Chand, Sunny, Subhash, Agaru Dass, Assembly President Jammu East Mehul Abrol and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Yogesh Sawhney commended the initiative launched by JKPCC president describing it as a bold and much-needed movement to safeguard democracy in the country. He said that the ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chorh’ campaign is a powerful expression of people’s anger and disillusionment with the current government.
He said that it is not merely a slogan-it is a voice of truth against manipulation, deceit, and the betrayal of democratic values, Sawhney stated.
He added that the Congress Party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Tariq Hameed Karra in J&K has always stood for justice, transparency, and the sanctity of every single vote.
Sawhney condemned the vote rigging and electoral misconduct, as recently highlighted by Rahul Gandhi in his expose on “Vote Chori.” He said that such revelations have shaken the very foundations of the democratic process, exposing how power has been misused to subvert the people’s mandate.
He further that current governance has thrived on manipulation and deceit. Their model of politics has been one of fear and fraud. But people now see through their lies, and this campaign is the beginning of their accountability, Sawhney remarked, urging citizens to unite and reclaim their democratic rights.
