Jammu artists participate in painters’ camp in Dalhousie

JAMMU, Jan 25: Rohit Verma and Jang S Verman, artists from Jammu participated in painters’ camp organized as a part of the cultural programme conducted in connection with the celebration of ‘Prakram Diwas’ in Dalhousie.
The event was organized by North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala (Union Ministry of Culture) in collaboration with District Administration, Chamba District (HP), at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Chowk, Dalhousie to commemorate the 129th Birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
Other artists who participated in the painters’ camp included Padamshri Vijay Sharma, Umesh Nandan, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Parikshit Sharma (District Chamba); Prabhinder Lall (Chandigarh); Satwant Singh Sumail (Mohali); and Balwant Singh Balouria and Dhani Ram Khushdil (Dharamshala). Each artist created one painting each to commemorate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
D S Thakur, MLA Dalhousie was the chief guest on this occasion whereas SDM and Tehsildar of Dalhousie as well as Programme Officer, NZCC, Kala Gram Rajesh Bakshi and other guests were present on this occasion.
A number of dance and song troops/singers like by Atul Sharma & Group, Lachhi & Group, Ramesh Chand & Group and Anup Arya & Party presented Himachali folk dance, songs and plays, depicting patriotism, sacrifice and courage of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
