JAMMU, June 23: The Jagti township inmates in a meeting here, today have expressed serious concern over the non implementation of the instructions given by Relief and Rehabilitation Minister, Basharat Ahmed Bukhari during a high level meeting conducted by him with heads of various departments including the Relief Organization .
The meeting, while highlighting the problems alleged that hundreds of bifurcation files were lying pending with the Government due to which the deserving migrants are suffering. The failure of authorities to settle the problems has generated a resentment among the displaced people in general and Jagti township inmates in particular, the meeting added. It warned to launch a massive agitation against the callousness of the authorities responsible for the miseries of migrants.
The meeting alleged that though many representations were given to Relief authorities asking them to solve the problems like installation of auto cut transformer at water filtration plant and construction of alternative dug well to ease the problem of water supply, construction of examination hall and installation of generator at GHSS Jagti , simplification of bifurcation process, providing of medical assistance to ailing persons, issuance of RBA certificates, repair and renovation of roads, buildings and maintenance of parks, revamping and reshuffling of Relief Organization, installation of fans from Block 1 to Block 29, issuing the allotment of shops to shopkeepers, issuance of solar lights in the camp and making the new hospital building functional, but nothing has been done till date in this regard.
The meeting also expressed grave concern over the delay in providing the ration slips to migrants at Jammu while the same have been given to political migrants in Valley much earlier.
The meeting warned that in case the demands were not settled immediately migrants in Jagti township will be forced to launch agitation. Roshan Lal Raina, A K Sadhu, T N Bhat, Pintoo Ji, Ravinder Raina, O N Kaw, Raj Nath Dhar, Chaman Lal, Ravi Ji, Vijay Koul, Inder Labroo besides others attended the meeting.
