Jagti inmates facing water scarcity

JAMMU, Sept 7: Various KP organizations and social activists have expressed grave concern over scarcity of water in Jagti township and demanded its immediate restoration.
In their separate statements the relief holders and over aged youth leader Ravinder Pandita, Sunil Pandita and social activist Vijay Koul have urged the Relief authorities to take immediate steps in restoration of water to Jagti township failing which the inmates of township will come to streets in protest.
They said that the people were put to many hardships as there is complete scarcity of drinking water for last fortnight in the township and o no steps were taken till date in restoring the same putting the inmates to many hardships in this hot and humid Summer.
They said despite taking up the matter with concerned Executive Engineer he failed to act and take quick steps in restoring the water supply.
The camp inmates also demanded that a new water supply scheme for the camp be taken up in hand as the old scheme has completely failed.
The camp inmates also demanded that the cooking gas under BPL category be distributed among the poor people of the community also who can’t afford the same. An appeal in this regard was also made to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
