Jagti inmates demand arrest of driver, hold protest

JAMMU, Jan 5: The inmates of Jagti today demanded immediate arrest of the tractor driver who crushed a five year old minor boy who was standing meters away from road near a ditch as the tractor driver who was chasing another tractor was in high speed.
The inmates in an appeal demanded that the driver was totally responsible for crushing the boy to death as he was standing far from the road.
They warned to launch agitation in case the driver was not immediately arrested and dealt under law for the crime committed by him.
Meanwhile, a protest demonstration was held in the township by the camp inmates under the leadership of Shadi Lal Pandita who also demanded immediate arrest of driver for murdering the youth.
The protestors demanded five lakh compensation be given to the family as the driver was totally on fault as boy was standing far away from the road.
The eyewitness present on the site also said that the boy was away from the road near a ditch and the tractor which was in fast speed in its bid to overtake another tractor crushed the boy to death.
Pandita expressed concern over the power failure in the township. Besides demanding improvement in power supply, he demanded enhancement of cash relief, implementation of PM’s employment package, on spot recruitment in police and permanent, rehabilitation of migrants in the township.
Meanwhile, SP leader Inder Ji Labroo has also expressed his shock over crushing of a five year old boy by the tractor and demanded due compensation for the family.
