The AIMCCC president, Desh Rattan said that instead of settling the burning problems of the displaced Pandits leading an exiled life over 31 years now, the successive State and Central Governments were inclined to appeasement policy of a particular section of society.
He alleged that Jagti has been totally ignored so far as medicare facilities are concerned. There is only one hospital at Jagti township catering to over twenty thousand population and during the present COVID Pandemic the people are suffering for medicare facilities in the camp.
The hospital has not been provided Ambulance by the “Department of Health and Medical Education Jammu. X- Ray Machine is out of order since a long time but Department has neither time nor funds to replace or restore it. There is no sanitation in the hospital complex,. Same is the position of medicines and other equipments which are out of stock. Building of Hospital also needs renovation, he added.
He said even the present Government led by LG also betrayed us and failed to redress the problems.
He said even displaced relief holders suffer badly financially and the mortality rate increases day by day as they can’t manage medicines and transportation charges etc for going to city hospitals , for their treatment .
Enhancement of cash assistance for relief holders has become essential in present time of COVID and financial support to deserving over aged youth and farmers who were put to heavy loss due to migration. He appealed the Lt Governor to look into these issues and settle them at an earliest.
