SRINAGAR, June 26: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Fatima Foundation to provide financial support and educational assistance to students from underprivileged sections of society.
The MoU was formally signed by the representatives of the Fatima Foundation and Prof A H Moon, Dean Academic Affairs of IUST in a brief ceremony held at the University campus that was attended by key university officials, including Abdul Wahid Makdoomi, Registrar IUST, Sameer Wazir Finance Officer, Dean of Students, Dean School of Sciences, and Dean Outreach.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor IUST, Prof Shakil A Romshoo, emphasized the importance of philanthropic organizations playing an active role in supporting students from marginalized backgrounds, enabling them to pursue higher education without financial constraints.
“IUST has in place a robust and transparent mechanism for identifying and supporting deserving students. Collaborations such as this strengthen our commitment to social equity and educational empowerment,” Prof Romshoo added.
