JAMMU, Dec 19: A delegation of the J&K ITI Employees United Front, headed by its J&K (UT) president Nazir Ahmed Molvi, along with senior Trade Union leaders – Naresh Sharma, Karan Singh and other members, met the Shahzad Alam, Director, Skill Development Department, at his office chamber in Jammu and discussed their issues.
The delegation held a detailed discussion on several genuine demands, including the regularization and enhancement of salary of vocational instructors and other staff engaged on adhoc, contractual, consolidated, academic, self finance, guest faculty, IMC and PPP modes, finalization of recruitment rules (Gazetted/ Non Gazetted), reorganisation of the department, including upgradation, institution-level restructuring, rationalisation, removal of pay anomalies in the posts of Librarian and MTS and Technical training (ITI) for MTS staff and also issuance of the seniority list of MTS staff, provision of maternity leave, medical leave and a transfer policy for academic consolidated and contractual employees.
They said that the directions be issue to the JD Kashmir/HOIs of Kashmir Dvision for the implementation of Government Order No. 61- JK (DSD) of 2025 Dated 17.11.2025, conducting DPCs for State Cadre and Divisional Cadre, refresher courses and study tours for faculty and senior faculty outside the UT of J&K preferably to Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore, auction/condemnation and disposal of unserviceable items and addressing the shortage of raw materials in all ITIs.
The Director assured the delegation that all the demands would be addressed on a priority basis and directed the concerned officers to take prompt action on these issues.
