SRINAGAR, Nov 25: Scores of Information Technology students today protested against internet shutdown which has been in place for the last four months in the Valley.
The students assembled at the Press Enclave and raised slogans in favor of their demand which is restoration of internet services “without any further day” in the valley. They said that the absence of internet services has casted shadow on their academic year as their entire curriculum depended on it. They also accused Government of showing indifference towards their issues.
The students were carrying placards that read: “LOL Digital India” and “Save our future”. After intense sloganeering for half an hour the students dispersed peacefully. Irfan Atari, one of the students told Excelsior that they have not read a single word ever since the internet was suspended here. “How can we study information technology without internet services? Our whole syllabus depends on the internet services,” he said.
Meanwhile, they appealed Lieutenant Governor, G C Murmu to restore the internet services without any further day so that students have a sigh of relief.
