IT Deptt, NIAC organize vigilance awareness prog

JAMMU, Oct 29: As a part of Vigilance Awareness Week, Income Tax Department Jammu and New India Assurance Company Ltd organized separate awareness programmes here today.
In the function organized by Income Tax office Jammu today, IT Commissioner, A K Thathai administered the pledge to the officers and staff of the department for striving to bring about integrity and transparency and to work for eradication of corruption. He advised them to work with dedication towards their duties and provide value based service to the tax payers.
Commissioner IT (Appeals), J&K, B B Singh, also addressed the officers and staff and asked them to be prompt in discharging their duty. The necessity of following cardinal principles of preventive vigilance was also highlighted by him.
Similar functions were held at Srinagar, Anantnag, Udhampur and Kathua. The Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from October 20 to November 03, 2012.
Meanwhile, New India Assurance Company Ltd organized a function in this connection at its Shalamar office here today. The Company employees from the division took oath and pledged not to indulge in any corrupt practices and ensure delivery of transparency in public procurements and normal functioning.
Divisional Manager of the Company, Dr Daleep Pandita while speaking on the occasion laid emphasis on adopting all the ways and means for creating much needed awareness against menace of corruption. He advised the staff to make collective efforts for introducing transparency in their working.
