Issues of Gurudwara Sahib Akhnoor discussed

JAMMU, Dec 8: A crucial meeting was convened at Gurudwara Sant Bhai Sundar Singh in Akhnoor to discuss the issues related to the holy site and its surroundings.
Ranbir Singh, a DGPC member, chaired the meeting, with participation of Gurudwara Sahib Committee and local Sikh community leaders from the Akhnoor region.
Ajay Sadhotra, former National Conference (NC) Minister and Working Additional General Secretary of J&K, was specially invited to attend and discuss important concerns of the community.
The main issue discussed was the damage to the Gurudwara Sahib’s boundary wall, which was destroyed in recent floods, posing a serious threat to the safety of the Gurudwara and nearby areas.
Ranbir Singh emphasized the need to urgently rebuild the boundary wall to protect the holy site and its surroundings.
Ajay Sadhotra assured the gathering of his full support and commitment to addressing the issue with the relevant authorities and NC leadership.
He reaffirmed that the National Conference stands with the Sikh community and will work to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
Senior NC leader Jatinder Singh Lucky also spoke, reiterating the party’s dedication to the welfare of all communities, and assured the Sikh community of continued efforts to resolve their concerns.
Other NC leaders present included Raghubir Singh, Ayub Malik, Gurmeet Singh Jimmy, Madam Kuldeep Kaur, Sandeep Singh Wazir, Ashwani Charak, Harjeet Singh, and Rakesh Pahalwan.
The meeting also saw active participation from prominent Sikh community members, including Jaswant Singh, Rashpal Singh, Captain Santokh Singh, Master Lal Singh, Delair Singh, Gurmeet Singh and many others.
The meeting ended with a strong call for immediate action to rebuild the boundary wall and protect the Gurudwara Sahib.
