Ishan, Amandeep, Rohit guide RCC Srinagar to huge victory

JAMMU, Oct 1: Brilliant performances from Ishan, Amandeep Singh, Rohit Sharma and skipper Kuldeep Kumar helped Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar to crush Youngster Cricket Club (YCC) by a huge margin of 149 runs in a one-sided affair to advance in the ongoing Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament at MA Stadium, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, RCC sailing on a power-packed knock of 80 runs by opening batsman Ishan, scored a mammoth total of 183 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Ishan scored 80 runs of 45 balls with the help of 5 fours and 6 sixes, while Amandeep Singh contributed brisk 46 runs off 24 balls, studded with 3 fours and 4 sixes. Satish and Avinash Jamwal chipped in with 16 runs each, while Nakul contributed 12 runs to the total. For YCC, Rahul bagged 4 wickets, while Ravinder, Nittu, Pawandeep and Ajay claimed one wicket apiece.
In reply, YCC bundled out for paltry 34 runs in 10 overs as left-arm spinners Rohit Sharma and Kuldeep Kumar wreaked havoc by bagging 4 and 2 wickets respectively, while Satish and Vishal claimed one wicket each. Satish top scored with 12 runs, while Jagmohan Singh contributed 11 runs to the total. Ishan of RCC Srinagar was adjudged man of the match for his splendid batting display.
In another match, Khalsa CC defeated Singh CC Akhnoor by 13 runs in a close contest.
Batting first, Khalsa Club scored 125 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Virender Singh was the top scorer with 39 runs, while Vicky and Raju contributed 17 and 15 runs respectively. For SCC Akhnoor, Sham Singh Langeh bagged 3 wickets.
In reply, SCC Akhnoor managed to score 112 runs in 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process to lose the match by 13 runs. Deepak Sharma (37) and Sunny Kumar (23) were the main scorers. Mohit bagged 3 wickets for Khalsa Club, while Vickey and Amritpal claimed 2 wickets each. Vicky was declared man of the match for his all-round show.
The match was officiated by Rajinder Singh and Sandeep Manchanda as umpires, while Yogesh Sharma was the scorer.
Meanwhile, the office bearers of RCC Srinagar distributed kits among its players on the occasion.
