VC felicitates Law Students

Jammu, Oct 1: Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu, felicitated the students of the Law School University of Jammu for bagging the overall “winners trophy” in Sher-e-Kashmir debate competition organized by Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur. Lauding the students on their achievement, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ishar hoped that they will continue to put in their best in all the spheres.
“The solution to combating crime against women is capital punishment or change in mindset of stake holders” was the theme and topic on which an inter college debate competition was organized. The total of 15 speakers from various colleges of the state participated followed by panel discussion in which eminent academicians, Journalist, Police Officers, Social Activists participated and the panel was presided over by Justice J.P Singh (Retd.).
Pakhi Parihar, a fifth Semester Law Student, of the Law School, University of Jammu, who advocated for change in mindset of stake holders bagged the first prize and the Kritika Sethi, who spoke in favor of capital punishment was awarded the consolation prize.
