SRINAGAR, Oct 6: A Seerat -ul- Nabi conference organised by the Islamic Relief and Research Trust (IRRT) in coordination with the Downtown Traders Association, Srinagar was held here today.
Chairman of the IRRT, Ab Rahid Hanjura in his welcome address, highlighted the significance of organising such a seerat conference.
He urged the need to follow the teaching of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) about speaking the truth, being honest in our dealings, respecting parents, helping the needy and spreading kindness wherever we go.
Hanjura said, “Prophet’s Muhammad’s (PBUH ) character combined the highest moral values – truthfulness, patience, humility, forgiveness, justice and compassion. The objective of celebrating seerat conference was to inspire participants with the virtues of empathy, compassion and service to humanity and to provide a guide for living a righteous life.”
“Conferences make us to understand and celebrate the Sunnah (practices and teachings) of Prophet Muhammad ,” he added.
On the occasion, Rs 65 lakhs was donated in favour of 315 poor and orphan students perusing their studies in various professional courses.
Poets offered their tributes to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and recited their poems.
Among others who attended the conference included Nazim Nazir Fayaz Tilgami , Ab Rehman Lateef , Nayeem Kashmiri, Mohd Yousf Shaheen, Yaseen Driagami, Parvez Manoos, Farooq Fida, Sarim Iqbal, Gh Qadir Attar, Salik Sogami, Dr Wahid Raza, Mufti Meraj ud Din, Moulana Mohammad Ashraf, Farooq Ahmad Peer and Imtiyaz Ahmad.
