IRP 20th Battalion holds ‘Run for Peace’

Baramulla, Oct 3: The IRP 20th Battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Police organized the “Run for Peace” event at Parihaspora, promoting peace and unity as part of its ongoing Civic Action Programmes and the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Students from various schools participated enthusiastically, with separate reward categories for boys and girls to encourage fair competition. Alongside the run, volleyball tournaments were held at Government Middle School Yakmanpora to foster teamwork and sportsmanship among local youth.
The Battalion also launched environmental initiatives, including the “Planting Seeds of Hope” plantation drive and cleanliness campaigns aligned with the Swachhta Abhiyan. Additional outreach efforts featured drug awareness camps, painting competitions, and educational support through stationery and book distribution for orphans and girls. These diverse programs highlight IRP 20th Battalion’s commitment to peace, community welfare, and environmental responsibility in the region.
