JAMMU, Jan 22: Jammu Sainik Colony Welfare Association (JSCWA) has expressed concern over non inclusion of the civilian population in Sainik Cooperative House Building Society (SCHBS) elections.
Addressing a press conference, Sham Lal Langer, Chairman of the association said that civilian all over the country are entitled for voting in the election.
He said that by restricting ex-servicemen population to vote in the Sainik Colony House Building Society (SCHBS) elections is mockery of the entire election process and also infringement of the rights of the civilian population of the country.
The civilian population residing in the colony should be granted the right to exercise their votes for the better welfare and development of the colony, Langer demanded.
Langer also demanded well equipped hospital in the Sainik Colony to cater to the medical needs of the local population and other people residing in nearby areas.
Among others present were Rakesh Sharma, secretary, Harikat Singh Sasan, president, Harbhajan Singh Dutta, senior vice president and Bakshi Singh, general secretary.
