Inventory of Sri Jagannath temple Ratna Bhandar to be finalised on Jan 17

PURI, Jan 9 : The schedule for conducting the inventory of the Ratna Bhandar jewellery of the Sri Jagannath Temple will be finalised at the Temple Managing Committee (MC) meeting scheduled for January 17, Chief Administrator of the temple, Arabind Padhee said.
Padhee said the meeting will deliberate on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure that the inventory process is carried out smoothly without affecting the daily rituals of the deities or darshan for devotees.
The Managing Committee has also decided to open the Gundicha Temple for devotees from Saraswati Puja.
Necessary arrangements, including the opening of a free shoe stand and provision of drinking water, are being made. Entry to the temple will remain free for devotees for the first three days, he added.
The committee directed the Odisha Bridge Construction Corporation (OBCC), the nodal agency for the development of the Srimandir complex, to complete all ongoing projects by April this year.
Padhee informed that special arrangements for darshan for devotees with physical disabilities will be introduced soon.
He further said that the tender process for air-conditioning the Natamandap of the Srimandir has been completed and work will commence shortly.
Clarifying issues related to parking fees, the Temple Chief Administrator said the parking charge of Rs.500 for 24 hours for four-wheelers parked at the Bhakta Niwas facilities will not be rolled back.
Vehicles of non-boarders will not be permitted to park in Bhakta Niwas premises. However, devotees may park their vehicles at other parking facilities in the town and stay at the Bhakta Niwas.
The meeting also discussed land-related issues, Padhee added.
