Intra College Qirat, Naat competitions held

RAJOURI, Feb 3: Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies of Government Degree College Thannamandi organized Intra College Qirat and Naat competitions in which 19 students participated.
Imam Central Jama Masjid Thannamandi Mufti Abdul Raheem Qasmi was the chief guest on the occasion. He delivered a detailed lecture on the glory/importance of the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
Principal of the college Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina presided over the function and spoke at length on importance of such programmes and encouraged the participants for their nice presentations.
In Qirat competition, the first position was bagged by Khalid Hussain whereas second and third positions were won by Mohammad Saleem and Rahina Basheer respectively. In Naat competition, first position was bagged by Wasib Lateef whereas second and third positions were won by Khalid Hussain and Saiqa Anjum respectively.
Lecturer Sajad Ahmad, Nahida Koser and Lecturer Mohammad Yasir adjudged Qirat competition whereas Lecturer Ashfaq Ahmed, Saba Khanum and Lecturer Munshi Khan adjudged the Naat competition.
Prof Junaid Jazib and Lecturer Sajad Kutay (HOD Islamic Studies) jointly conducted the programme.
In the end, Prof Saleem Ayaz Rather presented vote of thanks.
