JAMMU, Feb 21: The State Bank of India (SBI), Chandigarh Division celebrated “International Mother Language Day” today at Local Head Office, Chandigarh.
The programme was presided over by the Chief General Manager (CGM), Chandigarh Circle, Krishan Sharma. General Manager (Network-2), Neeraj Bharti, General Manager (Network-3), Vimal Kishore, Deputy General Manager & Circle Development Officer, Kajal Kumar Bhowmik and other staff members were present in the programme.
The objective of the programme was to honour and encourage the use of various mother tongues. In the program, such authors from the staff members working in the Chandigarh Circle of the Bank were awarded and honoured by the Chief General Manager, whose book has been published. A cultural programme was also organized in which the staff members gave presentations in different mother tongues.
On this occasion, the Chief General Manager ighlighted the importance and impact of mother tongue. Addressing the staff, he said that in the mother tongue, we can speak our view point in a better way and it has a greater impact also. He said that by dealing with customers in mother tongue, our personal and business relationships are strengthened and customers feel connected with the bank.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks.
