JAMMU, Aug 22: An inter-State drug peddler was arrested with 40.694 kgs of poppy straw-like-substance from Manwal area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli today.
Oil tank driver Gurmeet Singh of Rajpura, Patiala, Punjab, was arrested with the drug consignment by a team of Police Post Manwal during routine naka checking at Nadal Manwal, a police official said.
He was accordingly booked in case FIR number 108/2025 under sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and further investigation taken up.
Pertinently, the arrest was made by incharge Police Post Manwal PSI Bhawani Singh under the supervision of SHO Jhajjar Kotli, Inspector Vikas Dogra.
