REASI, May 9: Reasi Zone Inter-School Tournaments in the disciplines of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Wrestling got underway at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium, here today.
Roshan Lal Bakshi, Tehsildar Reasi was the chief guest on this occasion, who declared the tournament open.
The tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi, Dr Swaran Singh Chib and under the supervision of KK Khajuria, ZPEO Reasi, who was also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Dr Chib presented welcome address and highlighted the activities and achievements of the Department of Youth Services and Sports Reasi.
The matches were officiated by the expert panel constituted by the District Youth Services and Sports Office Reasi.
In Under-14 Kabaddi, HS Kambal Danga beat HS Panassa by 27-20; in Volleyball, Amba Kids Panthal lost to HS Kotli Bhaga by 2-0; in Kho Kho, Amba Kids Panthal drubbed HS Panassa by 12-7.
In Under-17 Kabaddi, HS Sirla Bhaga beat HS Kambal Danga by 14-12; Volleyball, HS Kambal Danga beat HSS Panthal by 2-0 and Kho Kho, HSS Panthal trounced HS Kambal Danga by 5-2.
Meanwhile, Govt HS, Pull Tawi lifted the boys Under-17Handball Inter-School District Level Championship of District Jammu at Dogra Ground, Shastri Nagar, Jammu today.
In all, 457 Boys drawn from 14 Zones of Jammu District took part in the competitions.
The competitions were organized by Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director. Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organizing Secretary of the tournament.
In Under-17 Boys Basketball, APS RatnuChak beat APS Jammu Cantt by 26-04 points, MHAC outplayed KC International by 13-11 points, APs Domana trounced St. Peters HS Jammu by 30-02 points, while
In 1st quarterfinal, Sainik School Nagrota beat St Francis Akhnoor by 31-07 points.
In Under-17 Boys Throw Ball, KC International beat GD Goenka by 21-09; 21-18 in straight sets, while in Under-17 Boys Softball, Govt HSS Pargwal beat Govt HS Badyal Qazian by 6-0 homes, while Govt HSS Jhiri drubbed Govt HS Badyal Qazian by 03-02 homes.
In Under-17 Boys Handball final, Govt. HS, Pull Tawi beat Tagore Memorial HSS by 7 goals.
Bupinder, Navin and Vikas of HS Pull Tawi scored 6, 4 and 3 goals respectively while Subam Gupta of Tagore Memorial HSS remained top scorer with 5 goals.
The Inter School tournament of zone Sathra of District Poonch was organized at Boys Higher Secondary School Mandi under the age group of Under-17 boys and girls, today. Principal HSS Boys Mandi, S Rashpal Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. The tournament was conducted under the supervision of ZPEO Sathra S. Surinder Singh.
In Kho-Kho boys, HS Fatehpur beat HS Baila by 3 points, while in Volleyball, HS Fatehpur drubbed HS Sathra by 3-2 sets.
In Kabaddi, HS Saloonia trounced HS Sathra by 10 points.
In girls section, HS Fatehpur outplayed HS Sathra by 2 points.
The District Level Inter-Zonal Under-14 Cricket Tournament got underway at Subash Stadium, Udhampur today.
In the semifinals, Jib Zone and Chaneni Zone defeated their rivals Ramnagar and Udhampur Zones respectively to seal berth in the finals.
The Tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of Sudesh Kumar Chalotra, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Udhampur.
Cricket Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls Inter-School tournament was held under the overall supervision of ZPEO RS Pura at Davinder Sharma ground, Mill Area, RS Pura today.
A total of 75 student players drawn from various Government and Private Institutions participated in the event.
