Jammu Police organizes Volleyball tournament

JAMMU, May 9: A Volleyball tournament was organized by Jammu Police (Police Station Peer Mitha) under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) in the Playground of Delhi Public School, here.
The tournament was inaugurated by SP City North Dr. Vinod Kumar, in an impressive and well attended function.
SDPO City North, Varun Jandiyal, SHO P/S Peer Mitha, Sheema Nabi Qasba, I/C PP Gujjar Nagar SI Tariq Ahmed and members of Civil Society were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that sports and games  enhance mental and physical capability of youth, hone their talent in different capacities and inculcate in them discipline and spirit of team work, adding the the sports activities also prevent the youth from indulging in drug abuse and give them right way to channelize their energy.
On the first day, four teams participated in the tournament and two matches were played.
Today one match was played between Sidhra Club and Trikuta Sport, wherein Sidhra Club emerged winner.
The matches were played under the supervision of the panel of experts.
The DPS School staff and referees were also present on the occasion.
