UDHAMPUR, June 17: An inter- district drug peddler was nabbed at Jakhani, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur and more than 10 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from his possession.
The accused, identified as Aqib Ganie, son of Mohd Shafie Ganie of Pantha Chowk Srinagar, was travelling in a Tax, which was intercepted by a Police team, led by SHO Udhampur Raghubir Singh.
Upon frisking, 10.51 grams of heroin-like contraband was recovered from possession of the accused, following which he was immediately taken into custody.
In this regard, a case FIR under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at the PS Udhampur and further investigation is underway.
