UDHAMPUR, Apr 10: Udhampur Police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession during naka checking at Tikri.
A police team from Police Post Tikri, while performing naka checking duty, stopped a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AT-6649, in which two persons were found travelling.
The driver disclosed his identity as Mohd Yaseen Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohd Ganie of Zangi Bagh Budgam and the co-passenger identified himself as Bilal Ahmad son of Abdul Hamid Lone of Naid Hal, Rohama, Baramulla. On personal search of the co-passenger, Bilal Ahmad, 5.86 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 73/2026 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act stands registered at PS Rehambal and further investigation is underway.
