UDHAMPUR, Jan 5: An inter-district drug peddler was arrested at Tikri when he was travelling in a Taxi and had been carrying 9.19 grams heroin.
During routine checking at Tikri, a Glanza taxi car bearing registration number JK01AW-4419, coming from Jammu towards Srinagar, was stopped for checking. One passenger was found travelling in the taxi, who disclosed his identity as Bilal Ahmed Mir, son of Ghulam Qadir Mir of Lasjan, Srinagar. During the personal search of Bilal Ahmed Mir, 9.19 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
The accused arrested on the spot and accordingly, FIR No. 05/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal. Further Police investigation is underway.
