UDHAMPUR, Dec 13: Police arrested an inter-district drug peddler in Chenani and recovered 3.7 grams of heroin from his possession.
Police party of Police Station Chenani, while checking vehicles at Motor Shed naka point on the National Highway, intercepted a white Toyota Glanza taxi bearing registration number JK01BB-0130, which was coming from Udhampur towards Kashmir.
Upon personal search of the driver, a transparent polythene packet containing 03.70 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. The driver disclosed his identity as Azhar Manzoor Bhat, son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat of Zaldagar, Srinagar and he was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, FIR number 129/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation is underway.
