JAMMU, Dec 17: Insurance Pensioners’ Association Jammu & Kashmir today observed All India Pensioners Day in front of the office of LIC of India, DO Cell, Jammu.
The members of Northern Zone Insurance Employees Association also participated in the programme showing solidarity to the LIC pensioners.
During the programme the speakers highlighted the demands, which include; immediate notification on enhancement of family pension to a uniform rate of 30 percent for Public Sector General Insurance Companies, updation of pension and improvement at par with Central Government Pensioners, scrapping of NPS and bringing all under the defined Benefit Pension Scheme and universal pension for all senior citizens.
The speakers, who spoke in the programme, included Pawan Gupta, Divisional Secretary, NZIEA Srinagar Division; Ashok Birpuri, Treasurer; Neelam Sharma, Vice-president; S Narinder Singh of Insurance Pensions Association and others.
